Howard Hall is the oldest building on campus located on Georgia ave. It began as the home of General Oliver Otis Howard in 1869, and in 1974 declared a National Historic Landmark. It is considered at historic landmark because the first four buildings were the residences of general George Balloch and John Alvord. These four residences formed officer row. The house was restored in 1998 and is now the Alumni center.
